Matt Hansen
Managing Director, Member of Investment Committee
Mr. Hansen is a Managing Director and Head of U.K. and European Business at Atlas and is based in London. Previously, Mr. Hansen was Partner and responsible for European private equity for Cerberus European Capital Advisors, LP, in London. Mr. Hansen worked at Cerberus from 2002 to 2015, where his responsibilities included transaction and sourcing execution, management and monitoring of the firm’s distressed debt and control private equity investments. Prior to joining Cerberus, Mr. Hansen worked at Madison Dearborn Partners in Chicago and London from 1999 to 2002. Prior to Madison Dearborn, Mr. Hansen worked in the investment banking group at Bear Stearns in New York. Mr. Hansen also worked at Centennial Ventures, an early stage venture capital firm.

Mr. Hansen served on the Board of Directors of Greentree Financial (f.k.a. Conseco Financial), Boxclever Consumer Rental LLC, Blue Bird, NABI and Greenstar. Mr. Hansen was also on the Investment Committee, Management Committee and Credit Committee at BAWAG P.S.K. in Vienna, Austria, where he led M&A, business development and international corporate investing. Additionally, he served on the WorldCom Creditors’ Committee, the Marconi Creditors’ Committee and the Outsourcing Financial Receivable Solutions Inc. Creditors’ Committee.

Mr. Hansen earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance from the University of Texas at Austin and an MBA from both Columbia Business School and London Business School, having completed their joint-MBA global degree program.

Abigail May
Managing Director, Member of Investment Committee
Ms. May is a Managing Director at Atlas, having joined in May 2015, and is based in London. Previously, Ms. May worked as a Managing Director at BAWAG, Austria’s fourth largest commercial bank, from 2010 to 2011. Prior to joining BAWAG, Ms. May was a founding Partner of Cerberus European Capital Advisors, LP, where she was responsible for sourcing, evaluating and executing private equity, lending and distressed investments across Western Europe. From 1998 to 2006, Ms. May was a Managing Director at Cerberus Capital Management in New York. Ms. May began her career in private equity at Stonington Partners.

Ms. May earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Sociology from the University of Pennsylvania.

Colin Savage
Managing Director, Member of Investment Committee
Mr. Savage is a Managing Director at Atlas, having joined in March 2015, and is based in New York. Previously, Mr. Savage worked in the financial institutions investment banking group at Citigroup Global Markets, Inc. from 2010 to 2015. Mr. Savage has had significant financial institutions transaction experience in North America, Europe and Asia. Prior to Citigroup, Mr. Savage worked in the financial institutions investment banking group at UBS AG in New York from 2007 to 2010 and in the mergers & acquisitions group of Rothschild from 2005 to 2007.

Mr. Savage is currently a member of the Board of Directors of Lykes Brothers, Inc.

Mr. Savage earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Yale University, with a double major in History and Engineering, and an MBA from Columbia Business School, where he was selected for the value investing program and awarded Beta Gamma Sigma Honors. Mr. Savage is a CFA Charterholder.

Martin Ngombwa
Associate
Mr. Ngombwa is an Associate at Atlas Merchant Capital, having joined in July 2016, and is based in London. Previously, Mr. Ngombwa worked at Morgan Stanley from 2011 to 2016 in the Financial Institutions Group and the Financial Sponsors Group based in London. 

Mr. Ngombwa earned a Masters in Finance degree, Summa Cum Laude, from ESSEC Business School, and a BSc (Hons) in Economics, First Class, from the University of East Anglia.

Stefan Tintea
Associate
Mr. Tintea is an Associate at Atlas, having joined in August 2015, and is based in New York. Previously, Mr. Tintea worked at Citigroup Global Markets, Inc. from 2012 to 2015 in the financial institutions investment banking group and the mergers and acquisitions group. Mr. Tintea has transaction experience in the financial services and healthcare sectors. Prior to Citigroup, Mr. Tintea worked at Oliver Wyman as an intern in the financial services management consulting practice.

Mr. Tintea earned a Bachelor of Arts degree, cum laude, from Harvard University in Chemistry and Physics with High Honors, and a minor in Economics.
